The WCO – the FCS of Russia: Security Problems

Today, a meeting was held in Moscow between the FCS executive officers and Mr. Kunio Mikuriya, Deputy Secretary General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), currently on his short visit to Russia. The distinguished guest opened discussions, stating the international importance of Russia. The fact in support of this statement were two visits, made by Mr. K. Mikuriya’s prior to his Moscow visits - to South Korea and Mongolia as a participant of two representative forums held on the problems of world trade and the customs activity in the Asia Pacific and the Central Asia regions. Now, development of these two Asian regions is considered inconceivable without partnership with Russia.

The Customs Inclines Foreign Manufacturers Towards Direct Deliveries

On September 14, senior executives of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of Russia held a meeting with members of household appliances companies, marketing their products in the domestic market. The matter for discussions, arranged between the FCS and foreign business groups through the instrumentality of the Association (RATEK/РАТЭК), were the issues of customs clearance of import household appliances. The business invitees included principle foreign companies, representing worldwide trademarks: Samsung, Panasonic, Hitachi, Philips, Ardo, Candy, Bosch, Siemens, Sony, Archelik, Elektrolux, Loewe, Thomson, JVC, Toshiba, De’Longhi S.p.A, Sharp Electronics, Daewoo Electronics, Wirpool, Merloni Elettrodomestici.

Meeting of the FCS executive officers with members of Express-Carriers Association

Mr. Leonid Lozbenko, Deputy Head of the FSC of Russia, conducted a meeting with the companies – members of the Association of Express Carriers. The meeting was held with participation of representatives of DHL, FedEx, TNT, UPS, Freight Link/Pony Express.
