REPRESENTATIVES OF FEDERAL CUSTOMS SERVICE OF RUSSIA TOOK PART IN THE MEETING OF THE CUSTOMS COMMITTEE OF THE JAPAN BUSINESS CLUB

On March 19, 2013, the Russian Federal Customs Service officials traditionally participated in the meeting of the Customs Committee of the Japan Business Club. On the part of Japan, the experts in customs issues of such big companies as Panasonic, Mitsubishi Motor, Mitsubishi Electric, Nikon LLC, Mitsui, Sharp, Nippon Express and others attended the event.

During the meeting, the problems of Japanese companies that arise by the import of goods to the Russian Federation territory were discussed. Mrs. Larisa Korshunova, Deputy Head of the General Department for Organization of Customs Processing and Control, spoke to the audience about the plans of the Federal Customs Service of Russia to develop the authorized economic operator concept in the Russian Federation. She also touched upon the topic of upcoming prospects to shift for the electronic interaction with JSC "Russian Railways".

Mrs. Zoya Tereshina, Head of the Trade Barriers, Currency and Export Control Department, spoke in detail about special features of the import of product samples and "novelties" for exhibitions and premier presentations. During the meeting, the issues of goods customs value correction within the risk management system were mentioned. Mr. Alexander Krylov, Head of the Risk Management and Operational Control Department, told about the development of a “green sector” for conscientious foreign activity participants.

At the end of the meeting Mr. Yoshiyasu Imadzu, Head of the representative office of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), thanked the representatives of the Federal Customs Service for their fruitful cooperation and expressed his hope for further close partnership.
