ABOUT MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FEDERAL CUSTOMS SERVICE OF RUSSIA AND STATE CUSTOMS COMMITTEE OF UZBEKISTAN

On April 11, 2013, a bilateral meeting between the representatives of the customs services of Russia and Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The aim of the meeting was to approve Implementation Plan of Personnel Training Cooperation Memorandum between the Federal Customs Service (Russian Federation) and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Plan stipulates the cooperation development in the following directions:

- participation of the teaching staff and students in international workshops and conferences organized by the Russian Customs Academy and the Higher Military Customs Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as in student conferences;

- benchmarking from scientific and methodological divisions of the Russian Customs Academy and the Higher Military Customs Institute of the Republic of Uzbekistan, preparation of joint training manuals on customs control organization, customs and tariff regulation, classification of goods, and special subjects;

- study of advanced methods of customs control and customs clearance;

- practical use of the risk management system;

- benchmarking of smuggling control methods and the methods of the customs authorities for investigation of customs legislation violation cases;

- study of the modern means of radiation control (radiation portal monitors, radiometer spectrometer, radiation pagers);

- work with modern inspection complexes, etc.

Following the result of the negotiations, the existing disagreements in the text of Plan were solved. The document is ready to be approved by the management of customs services of Russia and Uzbekistan.
