ABOUT DEVELOPMENT OF CUSTOMS COOPERATION WITH THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

From 23 to 26 of April, 2013, the Russian FCS Delegation, headed by Mr. Vladimir Malinin, First Deputy Head of the Russian FCS, paid an official visit to the Philippines Bureau of Customs.

On April 24, 2013, during the meeting with Mr. Rufino Biasion, Head of the Customs Bureau of the Philippines, Agreement between the Russian Federation Government and the Government of the Philippines Republic, as well as Mutual Trade Statistical Data Exchange Memorandum between the Russian Federal Customs Service and the Customs Bureau of the Philippines were signed. In its turn Agreement stipulates the cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in customs matters. These documents have constituted a legal basis for cooperation between the customs services of both countries.

Moreover, the Philippine side noted that the signed documents were prepared in the shortest possible time. Thus, it demonstrates the willingness of the parties to cooperate closely.

During the meeting a number of agreements on further collaboration development directions were reached, including the establishment of the information exchange procedure. The information should characterize the customs value of the goods transported between the Russian Federation and the Philippines.

The documents signed, as well as the agreements reached enable to create favourable conditions for the mutual trade for the business communities of Russia and the Philippines.
