Consultative Meeting of Customs Services Experts of Russia and Mongolia in Irkutsk

The consultative meeting of experts of Customs Services of Russia and Mongolia took place in Irkutsk. The Parties discussed the data comparison of foreign trade customs statistics for the year 2012. The FCS of Russia in the meeting was represented by Mr. A. Konstantinov, Head of Customs Statistics and Analysis Department of Russian FCS, while Mrs. C. Oyuunbileg, Head of Customs Statistics Dept. of Main Customs Office of Mongolia, participated in the meeting from the Mongolian side.

Opening the meeting that was held in the Representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Irkutsk, Mr. Andrey Novoseltsev, Acting Head of Irkutsk Customs, mentioned that Irkutsk has become a platform for international negotiations of customs services, especially for Mongolia and China, not for the first time.

During the meeting, the Parties discussed methodological principles of formation of foreign trade statistics data which is used in Customs of Russia and Mongolia. The experts examined in detail the structure and dynamics of bilateral trade of goods between two countries; they also compared "mirror" statistics and analyzed possible causes of the existing discrepancies in bilateral trade for the year 2012.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. A.Konstantinov and Mrs. C. Oyuunbileg pointed out its efficiency and a friendly spirit and expressed their hope for further effective collaboration.
