Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Peru has entered into force

On November 21, 2013, the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Peru on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs, signed on July 7, 2011 in Lima, entered into force.

The Agreement is the basis for the development of bilateral cooperation in specific areas of customs activities, including the implementation of challenge-and-response activity, the organization of statistical data exchange, as well as preliminary information about goods and transport vehicles that are moved across customs borders of Russia and Peru, the information about the customs value of goods.

The Agreement provides for the assistance in the field of law enforcement in order to prevent and suppress customs offenses.

Under the Agreement, the customs administrations may also interact with regard to the development and testing of new customs procedures, training and exchange of experts.
