Meeting of the First Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Customs Service and the Head of the Mongolian Customs General Administration

During the period from 23 to 27 March, 2014, a delegation of Mongolian customs officials headed by the Head of the Mongolian Customs General Administration, Mr. Ozor Ganbat, visited Moscow. This was the first Mr. Ozor Ganbat’s visit to Moscow since he was appo inted Head of the Mongolian Customs General Administration in December 2012.

In the course of the visit, talks were held on March 24, 2014, between the First Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Customs Service, Mr. Vladimir Malinin, and the Head of the Mongolian Customs General Administration, Mr. Ozor Ganbat.

The Mongolian Party advised that construction of a thruway is scheduled for 2014-2016, that will connect China, Mongolia, and Russia. Therefore, the development of the Russian-Mongolian border entry point Kyakhta – Altan Bulak is acquiring special importance.

To this effect, the Parties confirmed the necessity for the both customs authorities to proceed to practical deeds to create favorable conditions for foreign economic activity participants and to improve the effectiveness of the customs control at the mentioned border entry point. The relevant documents were submitted to the Mongolian Party by the Russian Party.

At the conclusion of this event, a Memorandum of a meeting and a Specification of requirements to exchange information on goods transported through the Russian-Mongolian border, were signed.
