On March 30, 2017 upon the initiative of the Uruguay party a meeting of the head of the Department for Customs Cooperation Sergey Konovalenko and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to the Russian Federation Enrique Delgado Genta was held at the Federal Customs Service of Russia in Moscow. During the meeting the parties discussed the current state of affairs in the development of contractual legal framework for cooperation between Russia and Uruguay in customs activities.

The parties considered the issues concerning coordination of drafts of cooperation protocols within the framework of the Generalized System of Preferences of the Eurasian Economic Union, discussed the matters related to organization of the Green Route project and exchange of data depicting the customs value of commodities.

Sergey Konovalenko and Enrique Delgado Genta agreed to elaborate on the possibility of signing the documents during the regular meeting of the Russia and Uruguay mixed commission for the development of trade and economic relations planned to be held in Montevideo (the Oriental Republic of Uruguay) in October 2017.

Moreover, the parties exchanged their opinions in relation to the possible launch of electric verification system for the imported commodities originating from Uruguay. Creation of this system will stipulate for a significant reduction of the terms for check of certificates of origin according to Form A and will simplify the procedure for obtaining of customs preferences for foreign trade operators.
