A multilateral meeting of representatives of customs services located along the route of the North-South Transport Corridor was held in Moscow

On April 20, 2017, a multilateral meeting of customs experts from Russia, Azerbaijan, India, Iran and Kazakhstan was held in Moscow to coordinate the draft protocol on mutual recognition of the results of customs control of goods transported along the International North-South Transport Corridor.

The draft of customs services is aimed at simplifying the transit of goods and is based on the exchange of preliminary information.

Mutual recognition of the results of customs control implies that the customs service of the departure country  transmits information about the results of customs control of the goods by chain along the route of the goods (both to transit countries and to the country of destination). Having such information in advance, the customs authority of the country of transit or country of destination freely allows the goods cross the border (without the application of additional control measures).

In future, implementation of such a project will reduce the time of the goods transit for several days.
