Vladimir Bulavin Held Talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain

On March 12, talks of Vladimir Bulavin, Head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, and Ignacio Ibanez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to the Russian Federation, were held in Moscow.

The meeting was initiated by Spain. The conversation focused on the current state of Russian-Spanish customs cooperation. Vladimir Bulavin and Ignacio Ibanez, in particular, raised the issues of interaction in information exchange concerning mutual trade statistics (accounting of goods and vehicles, customs cost control issues, etc.). The conversation also touched upon the relevant issues of joint law enforcement activity, which will be further developed with the customs service of Spain.

Vladimir Bulavin: We are glad to state that the trade turnover between Russia and Spain has grown by more than 20% over the past year. At the same time, our customs cooperation could develop more actively. We will seek to enhance our work in this regard.

Our reference: the trade turnover between Russia and Spain in 2017 made up $5.3 billion. This represents a 20.6% increase over 2016 ($ 4.4 billion).
