The 35th meeting of the Special Working Group on Customs Cooperation of the SCO Member States took place in Moscow

 

The 35th meeting of the Special Working Group (SWG) on Customs Cooperation of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (hereinafter – SWG SCO) took place in Moscow on March 12-13, 2019.

The meeting was attended by representatives of customs services of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the SCO Secretariat.

The participants discussed the issues of developing a unified transit system for the SCO area, facilitating cross-border e-commerce procedures, information exchange for customs control after the release of goods, and using the Customs Enforcement Network Communication Platform (CENcomm).

Following the meeting, a document format was agreed for the exchange of information on cross-border movement of ozone-depleting substances, agreements were reached to exchange information in the agreed format. The parties also consented to intensify efforts in information exchange under the Memorandum between the customs services of the SCO member states on cooperation in protection of intellectual property rights.

The 36th meeting is scheduled for Q4 2019 to be held in the Russian Federation.
